Class of 76

Class of 76

In 1999 Third Angel made a performance based on a class photograph taken in 1976 and made stuff up about the children in it. In May 2000, they performed it again and this time they told the truth. Fresh and funny live art for the friendsreunited generation, Class of ’76 has been revised and updated for a 10th Anniversary tour.

Class of 76

Third Angel is the partnership of Artistic Directors Alexander Kelly and Rachael Walton, who work regularly with an expanding group of collaborators from the fields of film and performance. The company is interested in making work about the small things in life, the things that normally get ignored or discreetly swept under the carpet. The themes that recur in Third Angel’s work, whether performance, installation or film, are those of the value of individual experience, the beauty to be found in the tiny details of everyday life, and the surprising emotional power of memories and places.

Since 1995 the company has presented performance, live art, installation and film work across the UK and in Europe, in theatres, arts centres, galleries, cinemas, office blocks, shops, car parks, swimming baths, and even a Victorian public toilet, to national and international acclaim.
