Write Around the Toon is a creative writing tour of the north east, designed to entertain and inspire.

Through twenty short residencies at cultural institutions in NewcastleGateshead, undertaken by creative writing students from Newcastle and Northumbria Universities, an interactive creative writing tour will be created.

The tour will be constructed around twenty short, site-specific creative writing exercises, to encourage people to be inspired by cultural venues around the North East, and to write about their experiences.

The writing exercises are about sharing creative inspirations, and using an interactive map you can

Learn more about the writers and the venues
Access a creative writing exercise for each of the cultural institutions
Upload their own writing, inspired by the exercises
